Past Events and Milestones
The Optimist Club has been very active in the Halton Hills community since its inception. From Chicken Club (Children against drugs), Cross Country Run, Blood Donor Clinics, Santa Parades, Tree Planting, Bicycle Rallies, Sport Teams to Bang-O-Rama.
Over time we added our weekly Hall Bingo, TVBingo, Breakfast with Santa, Free Skates and the Youth Service Initiative. In the Youth Service Initiative the Service Clubs of Halton Hills combined resources to support the Youth Drop-in Centres in Acton and Georgetown.
Our longest running event is probably the Santa Calling Program which provides calls from our Santa-Volunteers to JK and SK children in Halton Hills. We are now reaching over 1000 children in the first week of December. Some of our first call recipients are now the parents of the called children. Which gives us pride to bring joy to children for such a long time.
